Animo TV is a multi-award winning Irish independent production company based in Dublin and London. Founded in 2003, we produce high-end factual entertainment, documentary and branded content for national and international audiences.
Over the last 15 years, Animo TV has earned its reputation as a leading producer of ground breaking popular factual documentaries. Some recent examples include The John Pauls, My Astonishing Self: Gabriel Byrne on George Bernard Shaw (won the IFTA for Best Documentary 2018), Will a Robot Steal My Job?, Awake: The Science of Sleep and David McWilliams: Ireland’s Great Wealth Divide. We also produce talent-lead documentaries and are working with Vogue Williams and Baz Ashmawyon a series of documentaries for RTÉ.
We have produced critically acclaimed large scale TV productions such as Ireland’s most ambitious and successful factual entertainment format Ireland’s Fittest Family. Now in its sixth season this is a gruelling competition series where families battle it out in the toughest urban and rural adventure courses imaginable.
Formats are a core part of our output having produced top rating factual entertainment programming such as the internationally successful Who Do You Think You Are?, Secret Millionaire and Connected. We have also developed our own successful factual formats such as The Great House Revival, Design Doctors, Feargal Quinn’s Retail Therapy, Celebrity Bainisteoir, Baz’s Extreme Worlds and many more.
Animo TV also works with brands to create their own unique content and on advertiser funded TV projects. We are focused on creating content that delivers brand values in an entertaining way. Current and past brand partners include Bank of Ireland, Coca-Cola, Baileys, ESB and UDG, and agencies such as Irish International, Genesis, Q4PR, DDFH&B and Murray Consultants.
Animo TV was acquired by its parent company Parallel Films in 2014. Parallel Films have most recently produced the Aisling Walsh directed film Maudie, starring Ethan Hawke and Sally Hawkins, The Man Who Invented Christmas starring Dan Stevens, Jadotville, a Netflix Original Film starring Jamie Dornan, and the Oscar nominated Brooklyn starring Saoirse Ronan.
